The UEFA European Championship 2020: Group E – F Review.

Group E
Spain, Sweden, Poland, and Slovakia.
Spain

This may not be the strongest looking Spanish side but the wealth of talent they possess is evident for all to see. Even with surprising exclusions of Sergio Ramos and Nacho Fernandez, the Spaniards have enough in the tank to make meaningful progress in this competition.
Expectation
Quarter finals
Star Player
Alvaro Morata.

Sweden

A decent footballing side with few quality players. With the right team spirit and synergy they can scale through the group.
Expectation
Round of 16
Star Player
Emil Forsberg.

Poland

Decent squad with well experienced players. If they can provide their talismanic captain Robert Lewandowski with the right support, they can achieve any modest targets set.
Expectation
Round of 16
Star Player
Robert Lewandowski

Slovakia

A decent side but I’m not expecting much from them.
Expectation
Finish bottom of the group
Star Player
Marek Hamsik.

Group F
Hungary, Portugal, France, and Germany.
The Group of Death
Hungary

The minnows of the group. I’m sure they might have rued their luck after the draws. With talented midfielder Dominik Szoboszalai missing the tournament with injury, the Magyars will find it difficult to progress in this group.
Expectation
Finish bottom of the group
Star Player
Adam Szalai

Portugal

Reigning European Champions with the world’s deadliest finisher in its ranks, you can’t ignore the Portuguese team and the talent beaming from its squad. Certainly favourites to win the competition.
Expectation
Semifinals
Star Player
Cristiano Ronaldo.

France

Overwhelming favourites to win this competition. The reigning world champions will be seeking to make amends after losing the last finals on home soil. With the return of excellent marksman Karim Benzema, the French would see their chances improved.
Expectation
Winners
Star Player
Kylian Mbappe

Germany

Boosted by the return of Thomas Mueller, the Germans have more than enough options in attack even with the likes of Marco Reus missing out. Though not defensively astute as always, the Germans would want to give their departing coach Joachim Loew a memorable tournament as his parting gift.
Expectation
Quarter finals
Star Player
Thomas Mueller.
